Tiger's eye is a very popular Quartz gemstone. It displays a chatoyancy (cat's-eye) when a polished stone is moved back and forth. It's usually amber to brown in color. The eye forms when fibers of Crocidolite are replaced by Silica and the structure of parallel fibers are at right angles. Since antiquity, Tiger's Eye has been worn to bring about good luck and protect against witchcraft as well as helping you understand your own faults.
